Women In Construction Q&A- Brooke Ryba

Talk about your career path at Lithko.

When I moved back to Raleigh from Arizona, I was looking for a company where I could maintain a career and be there for a while. I came across Lithko and immediately fell in love with the culture and staff out of the Raleigh office. I started my career  as an Administrator and stayed in that position for about a year and a half. I was presented with an opportunity to get involved with our Campus Recruiting program and was intrigued to be a part of such an amazing department knowing that I would have a part in bringing on the young men and women who work for this company. After working with the recruits, visiting job sites and having constant communication with the project teams and supervision of those who integrate the new candidates, I quickly became interested in knowing more and understanding how  Lithko builds the work that we do. This interest and passion led me to where I am now, Estimating. I am continuing to learn the processes of how our jobs are built, which in return, will help me to be better at this role. I am very excited for what is to come!

What do you enjoy about Lithko?

The family atmosphere that exists amongst the project teams and office staff is like none other that I have been a part of. It doesn’t feel like work when I enjoy coming to the place where some of my closest acquaintances are.

Additionally, I enjoy the endless opportunities. Through hard work and dedication, I have made my career with Lithko what it is today. I have always been told to own my development and work hard for what it is that I seek to obtain. That has still proven correct with this company and one of the things that I love.

Give a fun fact about yourself:

I come from a concrete background. My family owns a small concrete company that focuses mainly on the residential side of construction. After several summers of doing that work, I never thought I would be with a company that is within the same field of construction. It’s like it was always meant to be!!
