Worker Wednesday with Jason Dixon, Nashville Burg

What do you enjoy about working at Lithko?

I enjoy the fact that every day and every project are different and each presents different challenges. A jobsite is a very fluid place, where the conditions and circumstances are constantly changing. This leaves no room for monotony in the work on a day to day basis.  I believe Lithko does a great job of letting you tackle these challenges with little to no interference.

What responsibilities did you have when you first started with Lithko? What are your responsibilities now?

I started with Lithko as an intern, while attending college. I assisted project coordinators with pre-construction and project management tasks. Once I started full time as a project engineer, my responsibilities changed to getting more involved with our daily planning processes and ensuring successful execution of the plan each day. I also started to learn layout and field engineer tasks.

My responsibilities now consist of the overall management and oversight of a project from beginning to end of the concrete construction process (From setting up  a job during the pre-construction process to the execution of the concrete scope to demobilization).

What work challenges excite you?

I enjoy encountering situations or problems that I have yet to see in my career. This allows for creativity and collaboration with the crew to find the best solutions to these problems.

What is your career vision?

Eventually, I want to get into operations management. However, I feel that the position of project lead has a vast amount of room for growth. I would like to stay in this position and improve with project I complete before moving on to the next phase of my career.
