May 18, 2025

As Lithko continues to grow our market share and industry capabilities, we are pleased to announce a key strategic hire to join our talented leadership team.

“I’m thrilled that Matt Abele has joined Lithko as our new Vice President of Talent. As we grow, it’s critical that we stay aligned and intentional about how we support our teams. Matt’s industry experience combined with his ability to build scalable people-focused systems makes him the right person to help guide us forward.” – CEO, Rob Strobel

In his role at Lithko, Matt is focused on enhancing our ability to attract, develop, and engage top talent. From recruitment to organizational design and development, he’s laying the building blocks to support a $10B vision—starting with listening, assessing, and aligning core talent capabilities with our operational teams. Matt believes great talent strategy starts with understanding the business and being close to the work.

Matt brings nearly two decades of progressive talent and people operations leadership experience in the construction industry. Matt’s industry experience began at Caddell Construction, where he served as the Head of People Operations, spearheading the creation and development of the talent function from the ground up. Matt then spent the past several years heading up Talent and People Operations for Kiewit Energy Group, advancing talent strategies for Kiewit’s energy markets, including Oil, Gas, and Chemical, Industrial, Power, and Mexico operations.

“I believe these experiences have taught me not only ‘how’ to build, but ‘what’ to build as it relates to our talent and people operations capabilities. I’m excited to be part of Lithko’s evolution and position our operational partners for even greater success.” – VP of Talent, Matt Abele

In addition to his corporate accomplishments, Matt has held leadership positions at both state and national levels with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), including serving as National Chairman for AGC’s HR Forum Steering Committee.

Matt earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Auburn University Montgomery and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources through SHRM.

Outside of work, Matt is faith-driven and family-focused. He loves to travel, fire up the BBQ, lift weights, and explore new Scotch varieties. He and his wife are proud parents of two daughters, and they reside just outside of Houston, TX.
