The 9th & High student housing project near The Ohio State University is one of the nation’s tallest mass timber residential buildings, combining a cast-in-place concrete podium and 15-story concrete cores with a mass timber superstructure.

Lithko coordinated complex interfaces between concrete and mass timber construction, including topping slabs over timber floors and high-rise fire protection systems. Built on a constrained urban site, the project required strategic tower crane logistics, specialized concrete pumping, and close coordination with timber trades to maintain tolerances, overcome winter weather, and keep the project on schedule.
