Heartland Logistics

The 270,000 square foot spec building sits in the new Heartland Logistics Park in Shawnee, Kansas. The distribution center is one of many in the new development, creating up to 2,000 new jobs in the area. Lithko’s Kansas City BURG is installing footings, slab on grade, tilt-up panels, 3D paving, and sitework.

There are 109 panels, with an average of 44.6 feet in height that will be placed by our team. One challenge we have encountered thus far is the decorative form liner on the panels. As our team studied the plans, we found the form liner profile did not match the depth on the drawings. We worked with the architect to get the desired effect and proposed some options to the owner with minimal additional cost.

From the project start in July 2020, we were confronted with numerous weather delays.  The team endured 26 weather days but went above and beyond to meet the original schedule, including a significant milestone on 9/18. We erected 27 panels that day. We plan to wrap up our work in December of this year.
