Lackman Business Center Building E

The Lackman Business Center Building E will complete the ODDO business park and will provide opportunity for another business in Lenexa. ODDO Development Company selected Lithko to provide the concrete services, which include the foundations, slab on grade, tilt up panels, and sitework.

Logistically, the construction site has posed many challenges due to the nearly fully developed business center surrounding our work area. The tilt up panels are very tall, for a building of this size, with heights ranging from twenty-eight to thirty-four feet tall. Utilizing our detailed planning processes, we were able to identify limited crane access to erect the sizable panels. We came up with the solution of splitting a panel in half which will allow us to erect the panels from the north and south sides of the building, and stay off the developed site along the west. Considering the large heights of the panels, we also took advantage of casting slabs, temporary slabs used to form panels.

The panels themselves are not your typical tilt up panels.  There are a few architectural details including thin-set brick inlay. To ensure quick installation and overall quality of the finish product, we worked with the Engineer to help course out all the spacing’s for the windows, storefront openings, and panel edges.

The concrete portion of the project will require a 6-7 week construction schedule.
