This airport construction project at Miami International Airport required innovative problem-solving and close coordination to overcome challenging site conditions, including a high water table just below grade. Working with the GC and design team, Lithko helped redesign the original below-grade foam containment pits into an above-grade fire suppression system, maintaining hangar performance while keeping the project on budget.

As Lithko’s first project in Miami-Dade County, the team successfully met all Community Workforce Development Program local hiring requirements. Lithko also coordinated with high-performance concrete specialists to validate hangar slab compatibility and achieve the required low-reflectivity concrete finish for aviation operations.
