This advanced manufacturing and research facility featured Utah’s first 18-inch jointless steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) slab-on-grade, engineered to support heavy research equipment and nuclear isotope operations without conventional reinforcing steel.

Through extensive value engineering and design-assist collaboration, Lithko developed and implemented the innovative SFRC solution, improving constructability while meeting demanding structural requirements. Working across multiple concurrent campus buildings, the team accelerated the schedule by completing tilt-up panels, casting beds, slabs, and nearly 5,000 cubic yards of concrete in a single month, showcasing expertise in high-performance industrial concrete construction.
