Print Innovators

A Fredericksburg, Virginia-based commercial printer, Print Innovators is the only printer in the U.S. with a Goss Flexible Printing System Press. This new facility offers special pricing, and the highest page and color capacity in the industry.

Although it did not have a conventional “box” perimeter, the 80,000-square-foot building was constructed with insulated tilt-ups. It included a 140-by-40-foot press foundation and four adjacent plaster pits with multiple depressions.

Over 50 percent of the tilt-ups had to be constructed on exterior temporary casting slabs with deadman-drilled brace supports due to the small building size and layout. The press pit foundation and plaster pits, 3-foot-6-inch-thick double mat reinforced with multiple finished elevations, were constructed as a single monolithic placement.

To add complexity to the project, we were hired to start the project in October and finish by February, which we did.
