Multi-Unit Housing

51MAIN is a luxury apartment complex at 51st Street on Kansas City, Missouri’s historic Main Street Corridor. The developer has completed many projects around Kansas City with a vision of integrating pockets of higher density residential, retail and office buildings into Kansas City’s neighborhoods.

Our work included eight stories of post-tensioned, cast-in-place garage and four levels of conventional cast-in-place concrete decks.

The cast-in-place parking garage is a post-tension, flat-slab beam structure consisting of 6- and 7-inch thick decks spanning between beams. We made 13 placements over five months, pouring 117,000 square feet of concrete for the elevated parking and 3,200 cubic yards within the garage.

The four levels of conventional cast-in-place elevated apartment decks were placed concurrently with the garage. These decks surround the parking garage on three sides. We made nine placements, pouring 58,000 square feet of concrete on the elevated podiums and 2,700 cubic yards within the apartment decks.
