800 Centennial

Distribution Centers

This new speculative warehouse has taken place of the original vacant facility on Centennial Avenue, bringing 250 jobs to the Piscataway township. Lithko’s scope is comprised of the foundations, slabs utilizing the Ductilcrete slab system, insulated tilt-up panels and site concrete.

Originally, the building was designed with insulated precast wall panels and a conventional 8” reinforced slab. As the design of both the panels and slab were in Lithko’s scope of work, and in order to expedite the overall project schedule, we value engineered the project utilizing site cast insulated tilt-up panels along with the Ductilcrete system. The Ductilcrete Heidebed system served as a cost effective alternative solution to the original slab design, and the customer agreed it was the best approach for the project and end user(s).

While in close proximity to a neighboring residential community and working through the winter, restricted working hours and weather could have created additional schedule/production challenges. These potential obstacles were mitigated as a result of our Customer Plan Presentation and Daily Planning Process, to which our team’s coordination with the Contractor and its team of subcontractors during the initial project set-up, as well as daily coordination, allowed us to proactively adjust and readjust our plan to meet the schedule and customer needs.
