AvidXchange
AvidXchange, a rapidly growing Tech Company in Charlotte is expanding its headquarters. Brasfield & Gorrie selected Lithko to provide the concrete construction on the new office and parking structure which will accommodate a much needed parking solution to the Music Factory across the street and will bring 600+ IT jobs to the area. Our scope included structural excavation of the footers, strip & spread footings, form/pour structural walls, slab on grade, precast washes, pan stairs, and slab on metal deck.
We encountered a couple of obstacles at the start of the project. There were two months of permit delays at the start, but the target end date for the project did not change. With having to work around multiple trades, we worked with the crews in ensuring we had detailed coordination to expedite the schedule without sacrificing quality.
To support the precast beams, we utilized the Meadow Burke Rapid-Lock System. We installed the system connection into every ten feet of the vertical walls. We also utilized Barrier One, a concrete admixture that removes the necessity for field moisture testing and expensive topical remediation systems.
The success of our project schedule was due to our weekly one month look-ahead and pour planning, daily quality control, and daily early morning meetings identifying risks, hazards and production expectations. Through the detailed coordination between all the subcontractors and Brasfield & Gorrie, our project team was able to execute our portion of the work in 6 months, including placing 3,500 cubic yards of concrete for the slab on metal deck and slab on grade at a rate of 3-4 times a week for one month.
