B&B Theaters Liberty
B&B Theaters is doing an $11 million expansion in Liberty that includes a theatre and new headquarters. We are partnered with Excel Constructors on the theatre and our scope includes drilled piers, strip footings, slab on grade, tilt-up panels, toppings on foam, retaining walls, and sidewalk.
Two sides of the project are surrounded by the road. Considering the amount of space between the street and the project site, the panel erection will have to take place from inside the building. During our planning meeting, our team outlined the crane logistics and chose to leave out a slab on the east side to allow the crane to come inside the building to stand the panels. There is a total of 47 panels, averaging 48 feet tall.
The theatre risers will be built with Geoform structural blocks with 4 inches of concrete topping slabs. This can be difficult to build, due to the slope created by the steps. To add to the complexity, the toppings will be placed after the interior walls are built and wall finishes will have begun.
Our Project Execution Process has been climactic to our project plan. This process has allowed our team to identify the challenges upfront with detailed solutions prior to execution.
