Blue Moon
Scope of work:
- Foundations
- Slabs
- Tilt-wall panels
This building addition is adjacent to a dog food manufacturing plant. The preplanning for the tilt panel casting and erection sequence was very complex due to the many interior walls and 75% of the building containing sloped floors, which required the use of casting beds.
Multiple revisions of the casting plan were required as the bracing and erection plan had to be coordinated with the underground utilities and plumbing, casting bed locations, and deadmen locations. Certain casting beds had to be used up to three times. Sequencing panel placements and erection was critical to ensuring that the crane and erection crews did not experience any downtime. Lithko, Brasfield and Gorrie, and the MEP contractor effectively coordinated this project.
