Bridge Park D4 & D5

Mixed Use

Construction in Dublin, Ohio’s downtown district is taking shape and continuing to expand. We are constructing a new mixed-use building, comprised of a liner slab on grade, a 6-story parking garage, and podium structure.

With 4 concurrent active construction projects and existing residential/retail buildings surrounding the area, project logistics are extremely challenging. Our team has scheduled early pours, which requires a new permit for each placement.  Deliveries are coordinated at least a week in advance and our team meets with our customer and other trades 1-2 times each week.

The retail spaces are high bay, and the slab on grade is at 3 different elevations, which was difficult to install, especially with all the rock we encountered. Due to the different elevations, removing formwork from the deck became laborious, as our team was only able to exit out of one end of the structure.

The original design called for construction joints through the beams. During our planning stages, we identified a way to save time on the schedule by eliminating this with large placements. This included a massive pour, which was 19,000 square feet and to date this has been the biggest garage deck placement in the Columbus Burg.
