Dillard’s Parking Garage
The scope of work for this project next to Dillard’s department store includes a three-story, post-tensioned, cast-in-place parking garage with a concrete podium deck. Construction started in July 2015 and is scheduled for completion in February 2016. The location is at one of the busiest malls in Nashville, Tennessee, with a very tight site that will be difficult to access during the holiday season.
The garage footprint is 85,000 square feet, totaling 340,000 square feet of concrete slabs. This beam-and-slab structure is comprised of 8- and 10-inch slabs with 32-by-60-inch support beams throughout. The podium deck will be the main level for the future steel-structure Dillard’s (the old Dillard’s will be demolished). Two Potain MD485 tower cranes have been mobilized to help.
Lithko developed many budgets for this project. We have been a leader in scheduling and making sure the general contractor has all the information and materials on site to keep us moving.
The project team is also using iPads. An onsite engineer is maintaining our drawings on the construction app Plangrid to ensure the most up-to-date drawings are being used onsite. Plangrid has allowed us to create as-built drawings, and given us the ability to create a project log so we can close out phases as we proceed with construction.
