Lithko Charlotte’s work on the speculative industrial building in southwest Charlotte consists of foundations, slab on grade (6” thick, non-reinforced), tilt-up panels, and exterior site paving, including dolly pads and pan stairs.

Our planning processes were crucial to the success of this job. Right away, we identified a way to save time on the schedule. We collaborated with our Greenville burg on the tilt-up components on the project due to their vast experience on this type of work. We decided to cast the support panels for which the spandrel panels sit on, with the spandrel panel as a cast in place wall and by doing this we knocked off approximately 3 days on our schedule. Also, once we arrived onsite, we realized we had limited crane access on one side of the project due to the poor site conditions. We re-worked our original erection plan to ensure we had a usable erection sequence before we started panel layout.

Lastly, during our planning meeting, we utilized our master work schedule and saw an opportunity to access three footing crews. This allowed us to finish the foundations and 3 slab on grade placements, totaling 160,000 square feet of slab by the second week of the job. As a result, we finished our portion of the work 2 weeks ahead of schedule.
