Interstate Warehouse

Distribution Centers

One of the largest cold storage companies, Interstate Warehousing Inc., is building a new multi-temperature cold storage facility in Anderson, Indiana. Once complete, it will provide about 60 jobs to the Anderson community. Lithko’s scope includes foundations, paving and high tolerance freezer slabs.

We exceeded the overall flatness tolerance of F-min 80. Our project team previously worked with Tippman on many similar projects and we know what it takes to meet the overall expectations. Due to the multiple placements needed we utilized a specialized formwork system and enlisted extra workers to continuously monitor movement and analyzed measurements to ensure the floor flatness spec was met. All slabs were built on 6 inches of foam. There was no staking to the ground and we had to compensate for any movement by the foam. We came up with a formwork system that entailed sandbags and plywood to achieve appropriate results.

Even with the numerous pours and extra manpower, our planning processes allowed us to maintain the project schedule and budget.
