Nationwide Children’s Hospital Big Lots Behavioral Health Pavilion
The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Big Lots Behavioral Health Pavilion will be the largest of its kind when completed in 2020. It will house outpatient programs, 74 beds for various inpatient care, training facilities, as well as an outdoor play area on the roof. Lithko is partnering with Turner Construction Company to complete foundations, cores, walls, and 8 stories of slab on metal deck. The building is part of a $730-million investment.
One of the unique compenents of the building is the way the structural steel is tied into the concrete walls. They require large, 1,800 pound, 4 inch thick embeds. The proper placement is crucial to the structure of the building. We are working with a third party layout company to ensure they are installed in the correct locations.
Lithko has also coordinated closely with Turner to ensure the safety of all co-workers. This is the first job site in Ohio to be 100 percent tool tether. All co-workers wear yoyos that attach their tools to their tool belt, preventing dropping hazards.
