Project Walnut

Distribution Centers

Project Walnut was the working name for the Proctor & Gamble distribution center that opened in February 2015 in Union, Ohio near the Dayton International Airport. The San Francisco-based logistics service provider Prologis developed the $90 million facility, which spans 43 acres, has 600 truck bays and will eventually bring over 1,000 jobs to the area.

The two biggest factors on this high-profile project were schedule and quality. We had to place 1.8 million square feet of slab-on-grade in only nine weeks in winter conditions. When putting in the foundations, we encountered rock and had to modify our plan to use different methods and equipment for installation. Using Lithko’s planning processes, we were able to coordinate the manpower and suppliers needed to complete this project on time.
