Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center
The 187-room hotel and 40,000 square foot conference space will not only provide a place to stay for Broken Arrow visitors, but it will also provide “a place to meet” for the residents. The new hotel is expected to bring approximately 200 new jobs to the area and will impact the economic development in this city. Henning | Paric awarded Lithko with the total concrete package including, drilled piers, shallow foundations, cast in place walls, slabs, and pan stairs.
Prior to starting the retaining wall footings, our team identified an unforeseen condition during our project execution process. We went back to the engineers for a redesign on the retaining wall footing, due to hard rock excavation. This would have caused a major cost implication. The redesign raised the foundations 2’ to be cast on top of the rock.
Starting the project during last week in April lead to some rainy work days. Most of the foundations were cast during May, our wettest month. We ensured no holes would remain open during the night by pouring the concrete the same day as the excavation took place.
The retaining walls were the main driver of the project schedule. Due to the long duration, we ensured the rest of phases were planned accordingly around these walls. Henning | Paric utilized Lithko’s schedule to build the master schedule and incorporate the work of all other trades.
